Backyard Refresh
*This post is sponsored by Lowe’s, all opinions are my own.
After all the renovations that we did last summer on the inside of our home, we really wanted to create an outdoor oasis that we could enjoy and relax in this summer. All the garden beds needed a major refresh, so we headed to Lowe’s to grab all the supplies we needed to make over our backyard.
The main thing we wanted to do in our backyard was to edge all of our garden beds since they’d obviously been neglected for many years, and we wanted to give everything a fresh layer of black mulch. Our favorite brand of mulch is Scotts NatureScapes. It’s really well shredded and the the black pigment stays dark for a really long time! Right now it’s on sale for 3/$10! Below is an image of the before and after of one of our garden beds. The black mulch gives it such a fresh and clean look!
We also added a heavy duty weed barrier underneath the areas of the garden beds that we noticed had weed issues last summer. We used this material at our last house and it worked really well to keep the weeding to a minimum, which is such a time saver! We got this whole project done in a weekend, and it was so nice to be able to run to our local Lowe’s to quickly grab everything we needed!
I’m going to link all of the products that we used to complete this backyard transformation below!
